You want to advance your career in the social enterprise space. You know that you should be investing in opportunities for professional growth. You've been to SOCAP and you show up to a monthly social enterprise happy hour downtown. But you want something more. You want to develop new skills, make meaningful connections, and engage in discussions that are shaping the future of this space. Where do you go?
I know hundreds of professionals with this dilemma. While working at Impact Business Leaders, a social enterprise that transitions professionals into more meaningful careers, I led recruitment for career development programs that always attracted professionals who were already working in the social enterprise space.
I realized that, outside of regional conferences and local happy hours, there aren't many opportunities for social enterprise professionals to grow their network, build skills, and advance their careers. Many turn to more traditional options like graduate schools which aren't usually a good fit for these professionals.
IBL was the first professional development opportunity specifically for the social enterprise space that many of our participants had ever come across. Our programs at IBL did not specifically target current practitioners, but they still had distinct advantages to traditional professional development opportunities. We focused exclusively on opportunities and challenges in the social enterprise space and gave our participants the opportunity to engage with a community of like-minded professionals. Because of this, social enterprise practitioners accounted for about a third of each IBL program.
This experience showed me that there is both a need and a market demand for professional development tailored to social enterprise professionals. That is why I launched Mission Driven. Mission Driven delivers professional development courses that teach fundamental business skills within the context of social enterprise and responsible business. Starting in May, our courses will help professionals build the skills they need to lead and invest in social enterprises.
But I know you've been waiting for an opportunity like this for a long time and I can't wait until May to show you what Mission Driven is all about. So, I'm hosting two free live webinars in April on accelerating your career as a leader and investor in social enterprise:
- Accelerate Your Impact Investing Career, April 18 at 6pm EST
- How to Lead Virtual Teams, April 25 at 6pm EST
I'm excited to share what I've learned over the last four years helping professionals build and advance careers that matter. I'm also going to lead a discussion on professional development in social enterprise with a live audience of current practitioners. You can join the presentation and discussion online by registering for our live webinars with the above links.
There's a better way to build the skills, connections, and knowledge you need for a career that matters. I look forward to helping you find the best growth opportunities for professionals who want to create a better world.
